A Grief Kind Space
Volunteers needed:
Washingborough Methodist Church in partnership with the Sue Ryder Trust, is planning to host a Grief Kind Space and is seeking to recruit a number of volunteers facilitate it.
As a Grief Kind Space volunteer, you will receive training, which will equip you with some understanding of the theory of grief, but the main focus will be on reactions to grief and how you as a volunteer, would be able to support those who are going through bereavement.
Grief Kind Spaces run weekly for 2 hours each week, but as part of team of volunteers, on a rota, it allows flexibility to fit around your other commitments. It is a simple model that offers a place where people can meet to talk about their experience of grief, overcome isolation and make new friends. Put simply, it is about the community
supporting the community.
We at Washingborough Methodist Church, hope to be able to recruit enough volunteers from within the community and also across the Circuit to be able to offer this kind of support to those who are bereaved.
Anyone who is interested, please contact Rev’d Jennifer Matthews, on email: matthews.jennifer@btinternet.com
Prayer Day
Wednesday 2nd July, 9am-9pm at WMC
On Wednesday 2nd July from 9am-9pm, we will be holding a day of prayer for our church and our community in the chapel at WMC. There will be a sheet for you to sign to commit to praying for one hour during this time. It doesn't matter if several people sign up for the same hour and we will make sure no one is on their own. Don't panic if an hour seems a long time to you; as before there will be things around the church to help you pray.
